Who is SkinPen for?
SkinPen works on skin that lacks structure or has been damaged. The most requested treatments at Juuls Clinic:

How does SkinPen work?
SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. A sterile, single-use cartridge with fine needles moves across the skin in a vibrating motion, creating controlled micro-channels at a preset depth. The skin reads this as a signal to repair itself and produces new collagen and elastin — a process that continues for months after the treatment.
Because the skin surface stays intact, recovery is short and the treatment is suitable for all skin types, even in summer.
What to expect during treatment
- Preparation — the skin is cleansed and disinfected. We apply a numbing cream (20–30 minutes to take effect).
- SkinPen — the pen moves over the skin, area by area. You feel a vibrating tingle; most clients find this well tolerable.
- LED Red Light Therapy — 15 minutes of red light soothes the skin and speeds up recovery. Always included.
- Aftercare — the skin is protected and you receive aftercare advice.
Results and recovery
- Immediately — the skin is red and warm, like after a day in the sun. This fades within 24–48 hours.
- Days 2–4 — the skin may feel slightly dry or tight. Mineral make-up can be worn after 24 hours.
- After 4–6 weeks — the skin looks more even, finer and fresher.
- After the course — the full result is visible after 3 to 6 months; collagen production continues for up to a year.
For lasting results we recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments, 4 weeks apart. Acne scars usually need 4 to 6 sessions.

What is the difference between SkinPen and other microneedling? SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device and works with sterile, single-use cartridges and a fixed needle depth. This makes the treatment predictable, hygienic and safe for every skin type.
Does microneedling hurt? With numbing cream you mainly feel a vibrating tingle. Deeper settings, for example for acne scars, can be more sensitive but are well tolerable.
How many treatments do I need? Usually 3 to 6, 4 weeks apart. You will see a difference after one treatment; scars need a course of 4 to 6 sessions.
How long is the recovery time? The skin is red for 24 to 48 hours and may feel dry for a few days afterwards. Work and social plans can continue as normal.
Is SkinPen suitable for darker skin? Yes. Microneedling uses no light or heat, so the risk of pigmentation changes is minimal. SkinPen is one of the safest treatments for darker and pigment-sensitive skin.
Can I have SkinPen in summer? Yes, all year round. We do advise SPF 50 and avoiding direct sun for the first week.
When can I exercise and wear make-up again? Avoid sport, sauna and make-up for the first 24 hours. After that you can use mineral make-up.
Can I have SkinPen during pregnancy? No. We do not perform SkinPen during pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or on active acne or skin conditions in the treatment area. We always discuss your medical history during the consultation.
